I used to think that Vietnamese Ginseng, especially Ngoc Linh Ginseng, was something only for the super rich – more like a “mascot” than a medicinal herb, it was fine to look at, but to use it… well, it was just a dream. But the more I learned, the more I believed that the dream of using Vietnamese Ginseng should not be a dream of just anyone. Perhaps, what we need is not cheaper Ginseng, but more correct Ginseng – correct understanding, correct needs, and correct usage.

I used to think Ngoc Linh Ginseng was… a legend
The first time I heard about Ngoc Linh Ginseng, it was from an article praising it as a “national treasure”, “divine medicine”, “king of ginsengs”. Each root can be worth hundreds of millions of dong, displayed in a crystal wine bottle, or packaged in a precious wooden box. It sounds far-fetched!
And so in my mind – like many others – Ngoc Linh Ginseng was considered “not for me”. Not because I didn’t believe in its quality, but because… I didn’t feel qualified enough to dream of it.

But then I started to wonder: Vietnamese ginseng is so good, why can’t I use it?
I started to learn more, read scientific publications, listened to experts talk about the record-high saponin content, about the ability to increase resistance, support recovery after chemotherapy, treat depression, reduce stress, regulate blood pressure… I started to secretly hope that one day:
- I can see ginseng growing in the clouds of Kon Tum with my own eyes.
- I can try a ginseng lozenge instead of looking through museum glass.
- Or simply drink a cup of Ngoc Linh ginseng tea early in the morning as a way to take care of myself.
And then I realized: it’s not that Vietnamese ginseng isn’t for me – it’s just that no one has made it for me yet.
Are we misunderstanding – and doing wrong – Vietnamese ginseng?
Ginseng is not just for the seriously ill or the rich. It should be part of a healthy lifestyle. But the way Ngoc Linh ginseng is being promoted makes it a luxury symbol, rather than a health product that is close to home.
I have never seen a pharmacy selling Vietnamese ginseng capsules. I have never seen a package of Ngoc Linh ginseng tea in a supermarket. And I have never seen a campaign that clearly says: “If you are healthy, you should still use ginseng – just use it correctly.”

I don’t expect Ngoc Linh Ginseng to be cheap – I just want it to be closer
I believe: Vietnamese Ginseng can reach me, my parents, my friends – if it is:
- Smarter packaging: a small bottle of ginseng extract at an affordable price, or capsules that are easy to use every day.
- More popular promotion: no need to emphasize “million-dollar roots”, but talk about “health value every day”.
- More accessible distribution: ginseng tea in convenience stores, ginseng pills on e-commerce platforms, or advice from family doctors.

Vietnamese Ginseng – if it’s as good as the rumors say, don’t just let it be rumored
I know I’m not the only one who dreams of using Vietnamese Ginseng every day – as a way to live a healthy life, not waiting until you’re sick to think about ginseng. And I believe, if someone is willing to do this properly, Ngoc Linh Ginseng will no longer be a symbol to “display”, but will become a friend to “use” – truly and worthy.
I believe that many people like me have heard about Ngoc Linh Ginseng but have probably not seen Ngoc Linh Ginseng in real life. But I believe, one day – that little dream will not be far away.
